

of Lansing, MichiganAge 93, died peacefully November 21, 2007. Helen Sivulka Haka was born September 25, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois and was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Zima) Sivulka. She attended schools in Chicago and Michigan and was a YWCA staff member in St. Joseph, Michigan for five years. On February 7, 1942 Helen married George F. Haka in St. Joseph and they moved to Lansing, where she made her home. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, St. Gerard Guild and was a former Red Cross Staff Volunteer for many years where she enjoyed working with people. Surviving are her sons, Philip G. Haka and Raymond J. (Marian) Haka; grandchildren, George R. Haka, Heather L. (Nick) Wilson and Michael J.Haka. She is preceded in death by her husband, George. Visitation will be 5-8PM Friday, November 30, 2007 with a 7PM Vigil Service at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Liturgy will be 12:00PM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing 48917. The Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
