Helen J. (Stanek) Kiebler

Born March 20, 1922 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the daughter of the late Ned and Amy Belle (Rowe) Curtis, passed away June 7, 2013 at the age of 91. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Stanek and Newell Kiebler; daughter Jeanne Wood; siblings, Ned S. Curtis and Katherine Schwartz. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia Long, Richard (Kathy) Stanek, Robert (Cynthia) Stanek, Fred (Susan) Kiebler, Bill (Cathi) Kiebler; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Shirley) Curtis; sister, Barbara Borsum; brother-in-law, Harvey Schwartz and sister-in-law, Mary Stanek . Helen worked in retail sales managing Greens Apparel for many years. She also served as a volunteer for the McCree House at McLaren Hospital and at Sparrow hospital. Helen loved gardening, creating beautiful flower gardens every season. She loved spending time with her precious grandchildren. Helen will be remembered by her family and friends as the ‘consummate hostess’. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 14 at University Reformed Church, 841 Timberlane St., East Lansing.
