She was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 1, 1948 the only child of Charleen and George Thomas Young. She was at the front of the baby-boom and came into a world that wasn’t prepared for so many new arrivals. She attended Everett High School, Lansing Community College and graduated with a BA from Michigan State.
She was quietly loyal to her schools, her church, and her friends.
She married Curtis Seibert at Lansing’s Grace Methodist Church December 8, 1979 where she was a Charter Member.
After a short elementary teaching job, Helen went to work for Oldsmobile in Lansing. She became a journeyman electrician and retired after thirty years. She lived in Morrice, Michigan for the last forty years and commuted to Lansing while Curtis commuted the other direction to Buick in Flint. Upon retirement, she began working for the family business, The Amazing Book-Store in Flint.
Helen loved comic books, horses, art, and science fiction. She disliked movies, television and any event that required dressing up.
She is survived by her husband Curtis; step-sisters Ann McDaniel and Dawn Jones; step-brother Al Champagne; and their families.
