Won her victory and went to her new home on February 17, 2008 at age 84. Ida was born January 4, 1924 and was the daughter of Merritt and Maude (Benn) Ketner. She worked at the original downtown Kewpee's for 10 years, and retired from the Michigan Hospital Association, and during retirement worked at Moyer's Tax Service. She was an active volunteer at Christ United Methodist Church; "The Sparrows" at Sparrow Hospital; Reo Road Soup Kitchen; and Ingham Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Mary Martha Circle, and was a past member of ABWA. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Preceding her in death are her husband, Robert Emerson; son, Gerald A. Heppe; step-son, Jeff Emerson; brothers, Lyle, Lawrence and Norman Ketner. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Long; son, Rich (Dawn) Perry; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Heppe; Step-sons, Dale, Jim, and Doug Emerson; 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation is 2-4, 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2008 with the Funeral Service 11:30AM Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917 with The Rev. David L. Evans, officiating. Interment Delta Hillside Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Christ United Methodist Church, 517 W. Jolly Road, Lansing 48910 in memory of Ida.
