

Jack Gurnard Furgala, 61, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 27, 2024. Born on January 27, 1963, in Lansing to Jack B. Furgala and Judith J. McConnell, Jack lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to his family.
Jack attended Sexton High School and later pursued a career as a truck driver. He retired from Ryder but also worked for Comprehensive Logistics for many years until its closure. His work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his career.
On July 31, 1987, Jack married the love of his life, Christine M. Furgala (Wilson), in Lansing after seven years of courtship. Their union spanned 37 years of marriage and a total of 44 cherished years together. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle who found immense joy in his family. His grandchildren were his world, and he could never say no to them.
Jack had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting deer, pheasants, and rabbits. He loved working on old cars and took pride in gardening, especially tending to his lilies and irises and planting many different types of trees. Traveling brought him great joy, particularly trips to New Orleans with his family. Jack also adored his loyal dogs, Zeus and Demon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Jody Miller and Jacklyn Pickell; and nephews Darrell Pickell and Justin Pickell.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Christine; children Jolene (Jonathan) Cary, Stephanie Furgala, and Jack Furgala; grandchildren Abagail, Bradley, Carley, and Danny (Cary); siblings Janette Pickell and Janice Fuller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jack’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to those he raised and loved so deeply.
