Born March 25, 1926 in Breckenridge, MI, the son of the late Vern and Gladys (Allen) Gillis, passed away March 25, 2013 at the age of 87. Jack served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He loved restoring old cars and was a member of the Falcon Club of America. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy; children, Susan (Greg) McLeod, Jim (Bonnie) Gillis, and Edward (Barbara) Gillis; 11 loving grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ivan (Henrietta) Stebbins and Fred (Joyce) Stebbins; and sister-in-law, Pauline Stebbins. Jack will be sorely missed by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1st from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service.
