It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of a brother, friend, cousin, nephew, grandson, uncle, and most importantly son. Jacob Lee Thomas Perez - Cancino brought joy and love to all those who knew him. With his presence he brought comfort, and his non-judgmental way of listening to his loved ones ensured that they felt safe and unconditionally loved. He was protective and loyal to anyone he called friend.
Family was important to him and the protection he gave to his friends was fierce for his family. His generosity and selflessness was spread to the masses. We admired his desire to find his "one and only." No matter how many times his heart would break he never gave up on his search for love. The term "The Latin lover" was coined for this hopeless romantic. Jacob was a man of few words, but the ones he spoke were of love. When someone he loved was sad, he always had something witty and comedic to say to bring a smile. His hugs were the best, he didn't just wrap his arms around you, he hugged you with his soul. He shared an affinity for music, and making it was a way to bear his soul to the world.
Jacob took to martial arts at a very young age. He admired the late Bruce Lee and enjoyed watching his movies and training. He loved anime, his his all-time favorite being Naruto. Above all Jacob loved being with family and the people he loved most. He shared a mutual love for animals and especially enjoyed his time working for Potter Park zoo. JC will be remembered for the love he gave and his ability to bring light to any situation. His passing will forever leave a void in our hearts.
