James Kenneth Hammond

James “Jimmy” Kenneth Hammond, age 69, of Orleans, Michigan (formerly of Lansing, MI) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020. Jimmy was born May 7, 1950 in Lansing, the son of late Kenneth James Hammond and Donna Jean Hammond. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 22 years Tamra K. Hammond. Surviving are his children, Jamie (Louis) Bean and Nicole Hammond; step children, Ron (Bobbie Jo) Vandyke, Tonja Nicholson, Tabatha Lowry and Marc Vandyke; and his best friends, Rick Denman and Martin Mull. Jim is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jimmy’s siblings include: Caroll (Don) Miller, Venus Hammell, Mike (Diane) Hammond, Vickie Rouse, Pam Nalett, David (Rhonda) Hammond and Chris English. He loved his puppy Maddie and all his other fur babies who left before him. Jimmy loved old classic cars especially his 1968 Mercury Cougar and enjoyed attending various car shows (Charlton Park was his favorite.) Additional hobbies included gardening, feeding the birds, watching wildlife, photography, listening to music, and working on old tube and CB radios. Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend and will be missed very much. Until we meet again! Peace out!
