James was born to Teresa Ranshaw on April 16, 1974. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2016. Jimmy was also preceded in death by both of his beloved grandfathers, Lowell Ranshaw and Jerry Hanner, and his infant brother Evin.
Jimmy is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Shannon. They were united in marriage on November 3, 2018 on the grounds of the apartment complex they first met on 41 years ago. They were reunited in 2014 after 24 years and the rest is history. Jimmy is also survived by his son Dylan Ranshaw, step-daughters Lindsey (Jared) McConkey and Allison Gonser, precious granddaughter Peyton McConkey, father in law Steve Smalley, his grandmothers Carrol Hanner and Carolyn Ranshaw, aunts; Gail (Mary) Ranshaw and Pam (Doug) Johnson, cousin and soulmate Troy (Corrina) Huddelson, cousins Jamie (Mark) Davis and Lawrence Zamarron, best friend Tyler (Jana) Shepler, step-father Kevin McCabe, many special friends, and extended family members.
Jimmy was a passionate soul who could read somebody within minutes of meeting them. He loved sunsets and the moon, his mom’s koi fish pond, spending time on his pontoon, turning his mom’s home into he and his wife’s, and his Bud Light. His greatest passions were his family and friends, music, playing pool, cooking, his work at Shroyer Metals, and his sharpening business, Advanced Cutlery.
