After graduating high school in 1964, she married the love of her life, William R. Smith. Bill and Jerri were married for 59 years. As a General Motors retiree, she was heavily involved in the Union as the Retiree Vice President. Jerri was known for her love of holidays and decorating. She brought spunk and spark to everything she loved, including playing cards, family reunions, union events, and bowling.
Jerri is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Scott (Rena) and Tracy (Michelle); 7 grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley Shaw), Cheyenne, Amanda, Kaelyn, Taylor, Samantha, and James; sister, Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Jerri will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the UAW Local 602, 2510 W Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48917.
