John C. Gallagher

Age 63, died February 7, 2014; born August 26, 1950 to Charles and Elsie (Smith) Gallagher. John graduated from Mason High School in 1968; had been employed with General Motors in security, later as designer at the Warren Tech Center for over 20 years. He had served in the US Army. He was a private pilot, owned his own plane, loved sky diving, scuba diving, computers and his 1979 Corvette. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Gallagher Guarnnaccia. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carla; daughter, Kara Gallagher; brother, Thomas Gallagher; sister, Celeste Gallagher-Hude; in-laws, Charles (Wanda) Pion; sister-in-laws, Peggy (Ricke) Richmond, Vicki Emerson; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in John’s memory may be made to Lansing City Rescue Mission, 607 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912, Salvation Army, 525 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, MI 48912 and Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, 310 N. Main, Suite 100, Chelsea, MI 48118.
