He was born in Lansing, Michigan, to Harold and Virginia Ruff (Archer) on February 21, 1955. John started his career traveling and working highway construction for a few years before accepting a position at Fisher Body for some time. After leaving Fisher Body, he opened his own business, J.H. Ruff Specialized Services, where he had many clients who turned into lifelong friends.
He is survived by his twin brother, Richard Ruff of Ovid, MI; his niece, Megan (Joseph) Bunge of Bannister, MI; nephew, Shannon Ruff of Fort Collins, CO; great-nephew, Logan Bunge of Bannister, MI; and a great-niece arriving in March. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ruff; mother, Virginia Ruff; and brother, William Ruff.
