Josephine Rodriguez Young

Lansing, MI

Born December 29, 1946 in Galveston, TX, to Jose and Maria Rodriguez, went to be with the Lord Jesus surrounded by her family on November 9, 2011 at the age of 64. Josie graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. She was an LPN at Sparrow Hospital in her younger years and retired from General Motors. Josie was a Christian woman who loved being with family and enjoyed her home and yard. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Jose Jr. Surviving are her loving husband of 28 years, Jay Young; daughter, Christina (Russell) McCurdy; son, Billy Lopez; sisters, Gloria, Sylvia, Alice and Mary; grandchildren, Justin, Stacia, Alyssa, Ciera and Troy; special pet, Lacey. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Sister Gloria Valtierra for her generous TLC, Great Lakes Hospice and the U of M Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Josie. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Rev. Jesus Mendoza officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. The family is being served by the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
