Joyce S. Meissner

Joyce S. Meissner, 92, of Lansing, MI passed away May 11, 2018. She was born July 7, 1925 in Mason, MI to Forrest and Birdia Neal. Joyce lived in Lansing most of her life and taught for 43 years in the Lansing School District retiring from her last teaching position at Post Oak Elementary. She also owned and operated Joyce’s Style Shop in the Frandor Plaza for many years. Joyce was a hard worker and multi-talented. She worked alongside her husband and sons to build their home. Joyce was a member of South Baptist church for 55 years where she taught Sunday School for over 40 of those years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard. She will be remembered with love by her sons, Bernie (Diane) Meissner, Larry Meissner; grandchildren, Jeff Willnow, Larry Meissner, Megan (Frankie Jr.) Parish, Bernie Joe (Rebecca) Meissner, Lazarus Meissner; great grandchildren, Joseph Meissner, Leah Meissner, Caleb Meissner, Courtney Burgess, Frankie Parish, Trevor Willnow, Alyssa Meissner, Lance Meissner, Lazarus Meissner; and sister, Martha.

A funeral service for Joyce will take place at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing with Rev. Doug Phillips officiating. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing.
