My grandmother, Ernestine Gamet, worked with Juanita at Lansing Dry Goods, in the shoe department, many, many years ago. Many more years after that my daughter, Danielle Lopez, worked with Juanita at Marshall Field's in the China and Textiles Department. Juanita ran a tight ship but once she found out Danielle was Ernestine's granddaughter she always had a soft spot in her heart for her and they became steadfast friends. We often stopped by, long after Danielle moved on to other jobs, whenever we went to the mall, to see if she was working and how she was doing. It was amazing how long she was able to work!
I will always remember her beautiful skin. I often asked what her secret was but she would just smiled and say, " good old soap and water".
My deepest condolences to her family, may you rest in peace now, Juanita.
