Judith Ann Goudie, a faithful and loving soul, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on January 8, 1944 in Mount Pleasant, MI and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Judy graduated from Eastern High School in 1962. In 1964, she united in marriage with the love of her life, Alex Goudie, at South Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she exemplified quiet strength, unwavering devotion to God and a boundless love for those around her.
Judy was a devoted wife and a constant encourager to her family and friends. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life–guiding her actions, shaping her kindness, and inspiring those who knew her. She had a gentle spirit and a heart full of grace, always ready with a kind word or a listening ear.
Judy had a deep love for travel and adventure, often combining that passion with her faith through mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Whether she was serving others abroad or exploring God’s creation, she brought light and love wherever she went.
An avid reader, Judy found joy and comfort in the written word. Whether reading scripture, delving into a novel or sharing insights with others, her love for learning never faded. Her presence brought peace; her wisdom, comfort.
Judy’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her brother, Clyde Sellers, and her beloved niece, Hannah Sellers, and many friends who will carry forward her memory with love and gratitude. She was preceded in death by her parents, Geraldine and Clyde Sellers, her loving husband, Alex Goudie and her cherished goddaughter, Jamie DeStefano.
A memorial service will be held at Riverview Church - Westside Venue (7533 W. St. Joe Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917) on Wednesday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life. There will be a luncheon at Riverview immediately following the ceremony.
