June L. Fenner

Age 91, now with her Lord, passed away peacefully at Sparrow Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 11th after a brief illness. June was born March 22, 1921 in Lansing, MI to Lester and Myrtie (Clark) Phillips. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1939 where she met her loving husband and best friend Russell. They married on November 14, 1940 and celebrated 67 years together until his death in 2008. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Emma Krause and Nancy Helms; and granddaughter, Jamie Benjamin. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Bill) Johns of Hobe Sound, Fl.; Carol (Dave) Neil of Dewitt and Janice (Ken) Hoffman of Holt; six grandchildren, Rod Johns, Janna Johns, Ryan (Kim) Begley, Marnie Hoffman, Kendra (Nathan) Dodson, and Kyle (Julie) Hoffman; and six great grandchildren, Jacob and Zoe Begley, Brandon Benjamin, Nicholas Fish, Asher and Isabella Dodson, and beloved niece, Lori Kirkconnell. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. L Robert McElmurry and Dr. John Armstrong, and the many staff at Sparrow ICU for their compassion shown to mom and the family during her final days. The funeral service is Saturday January 19, 2013 at 11:00am at Valley Farms Baptist Church, 1141 E. State Rd. Lansing, with Rev. David R. Leisman officiating. Internment immediately following service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River, Lansing. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing.
