

Karen Ellen McCreary (Mansfield), 81 of Holt, Michigan died peacefully at Divine Life Assisted Living Center of Haslett East on the morning of February 22, 2022. Karen was born on February 9, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan to Ernest and Florence Mansfield. Karen was a graduate of Lansing Everett High School in 1959. She was employed by Dr. Robert Digby, DDS and loved spending time watching her children and grandchildren participate in dance & marching band as well as play basketball, baseball, softball, and hockey.
Karen was a co-founder of McCreary’s Duraclean, now known as McCreary’s Healthy Homes, a home service business which began in the late 60’s. Karen was a collector and loved to collect dolls, teacups, spoons, and thimbles, many which came from other parts of the world. Karen was loved by many and was an avid sports fan. She was a member of University Christian Church in East Lansing and Faith Wesleyan Church.
Karen is survived by her husband, Hugh Richard McCreary, Jr whom she married on September 27, 1968 at Mount Hope Methodist Church in Lansing, Michigan. Karen is survived by her sister Marjorie Yarger (Dick), her children Debra McCreary Conine (James), Kevin McCreary (Mary), and Brian McCreary (Amy), her grandchildren Lisa Conine, Emily Conine Wilson (Codie), Evan McCreary, and Elle McCreary, her great-grandson Otto Wilson, her niece Wende Yarger Prevatt (Steven) and nephew Kirk Yarger and many other friends and associates. Open visitation will take place on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Faith Church from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at 2300 Lake Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48912 with the service to immediately follow at 2:00 PM. Memorial Contributions can be made to Faith Church in memory of Karen.
