Kay Werner Delta Township Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away August 2, 2010. Born March 10, 1936 in Charlevoix, MI. Kay was Lansing Police Officer retiring when her son was born. She was an avid volunteer with the local American Arthritis Foundation office as a volunteer coordination for nearly 20 years, and later volunteered with the Grand Ledge Meals-On-Wheels in the district office and delivering meals. Kay and Bob spent their winters in Gulf Shores, AL, where they were members of the Michigan Club, and Kay was a past Vice-President of the club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved reading books. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara & Benjamin Yettaw; and her brother, Michael Yettaw. Surviving are husband of 48 years, Robert ?Bob? Werner; her son, David S. Werner; granddaughters, Regina and Calista Werner; sister, Sharon (Walter) Keyes; brother, Steve (Bernadine) Yettaw; and several nieces and many friends. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 11, at the First United Methodist Church, 3827 Delta River Dr. Lansing with Pastor Melanie Baker-Streevy officiating. Kay will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Kay.
