Kieran Jean Royston born September 1, 1951 in Michigan passed away on July 5th, 2023 at the age of 71. She was widowed by her husband Gary Royston of 40years. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Shannon Royston d.2020, Colleen (Marcos Leal), grandchildren Shyona (Kendrick Miller), Zackary Royston, great grandchildren Zyona, and Keomi, and her dog JoJo.
Kieran was raised catholic by her parents John Henigan and Mary Jones alongside her brothers and sisters Terry, David, Danny, Jackie, and Kathy. In her early childhood she attended many schools in Michigan and formed friendships with many that lasted life long. As she entered into early adulthood she married early, divorced after 8 years but had two great daughters. She struggled as a single mom for awhile and worked many jobs until she met her husband Gary. She enjoyed the time she spent with her girls as they were always there for each other. The bond that formed and will last forever between mother and daughters that’s what mattered most.
Kieran’s proudest family moments was the birth of both grandchildren, their accomplishments and all the time spent with them. The joys her daughters brought to her all through their lives and their families. Her husband for hanging in there through it all and loving us all. The births of her great grandchildren.
Her proudest career accomplishments was getting her GED after 25 years, attending LCC and MSU (thanks to Colleen for the push), and working for Sparrow for many years. She had involvement as a Lansing Police Sr. Victim Advocate, a volunteer with Mayors drug free program and Fest Eve for 3 years. She received a volunteer award for St. Lawrence substance abuse.
Kieran lived a beautiful life alongside her husband and dogs with many travels and adventures. She loved her family very much and was there when they needed her. She was a sweet lady and had an impact on so many lives. She will forever be loved and remembered in our hearts.
A visitation for Kieran will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel, 900 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, Michigan 48912 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
