Kyle Clark Vandecar

Kyle is survived by his wife and best friend of 20 years, Kristine (Lewis) Vandecar; his mother, Julie (Clark) Brough; his mother-in-law, Mary A. Lewis; and his stepmother, Penni Vandecar. He is also survived by his siblings, Steven (Maria), Joseph (Donna), Candice (Jeffrey), Vaughn Ryan, Zachary (Mary), Taylor (Ally), Heidi, and Micah; along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Vaughn Clark and Billie (Richardson) Vandecar, his father, Vaughn F. Vandecar; his father-in-law, William Lewis; He was also preceded in death by his aunts and uncles.

Kyle was raised in East Lansing, where he spent much of his childhood at the family businesses, College Bike Shop and College Schwinn Bicycle Shop. He graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing and went on to work for many years at Jackson National Life Insurance Company before continuing his career with the State of Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48912. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, Kristine welcomes memorial donations in Kyle's honor to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter Center, organizations close to Kyle's heart. Kyle and Kris adopted several beloved dogs and cats from these shelters over the years.
