

Larry Ross Ewing, age 91, of Lansing, Michigan, joined his Lord and Savior on June 3, 2025. Born March 25,1934 in Marquette, Michigan to parents Carmen and Lawrence Ewing, Larry attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Agriculture Science, and later attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he received his Master’s Degree. Larry had a love for music, especially early Country Western. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards with family and friends, and he never met a stranger – always willing to talk to anyone and wish them well. He was a very big fan of the Detroit Tigers and always supported the MSU Basketball and Football teams.
Larry was a member of the ROTC while at Michigan State University and then served for two years in the Army in South Korea. Larry’s career at Farm Bureau lead him to serve in roles in both Michigan for a number of years and then Florida before he retired. He served as a leader in Public Relations for the organization and was a true advocate for the farming community in both states. Larry married Wilma (Wink) Irish in 1955, and the two raised three daughters. Surviving Larry is his brother Daniel Ewing, daughters Anita (and Dave) Tucker, Jennifer (and Tim) Goldsworthy, and Nancy (and Phil) Henderson; grandsons Benjamin Goldsworthy, Matthew Goldsworthy (and wife Sara), Ian Henderson, and Joshua Henderson (and wife Claire); great-grandsons Steven James Goldsworthy, Andrew William Goldsworthy, Charles Armstrong Henderson, and great-granddaughter Emily Megan Goldsworthy, as well as several dear nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, and two sisters, Leslie Ewing and Lola Jaakkola.
Visitation for Larry will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, MI with an 11:00 a.m. Memorial service and luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, Larry wished for donations to St. David’s Episcopal Church or to the Rotary Club of which Larry was a long-standing member and award recipient for his service throughout the years.
