Leslie was born April 22, 1952, to her parents, Seth and Pauline Hoders in Troy, New York. She graduated from Verona High School in Verona, New Jersey in 1970. She had a passion for theater and English Language Arts attending Drake University and Central Michigan University. She met her husband, Tom while attending CMU and they married in 1975. They set their roots in Lansing, Michigan where they raised their family and built lifelong friendships. She was a member of Mystical Rose Circle at St. Gerard Church and enjoyed volunteering in the community.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Tom; daughters and sons-in-law, Erika and Ryan Karber of Saint Johns, Michigan and Nicole and Andrew Carroll of Louisville, Kentucky, and grandchildren, Drew, Avery, Addisen, Ethan, Elijah and Jonah. Leslie is also survived by Stephanie O’Rourk and family of Hilton Head Island, SC; her brother, Jeff (Penny) Hoders and sister, Lauren (Bill Janhonen) Hoders; sisters-in-law, Eileen (the late Bill) Baker and Karen Jordan; brother-in-law, John (the late Colleen) Dobbs, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Pauline Hoders and in-laws, Tom and Dolores Jordan.
A ceremony will be held at St. Gerard Catholic Church on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:30am. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service with a luncheon to follow.
The family wishes to thank Sparrow Hospice and the families of Mystical Rose Circle for their unwavering support over the last several years. Leslie requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank or Lansing Area Aids Network.
