Linnie Sue Sharp Lomax Kent

Linnie Sue Sharp Lomax Kent passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Linnie was born March 9, 1936 in Greenfield, Tennessee to James and Annie (Berryhill) Sharp. The family moved to Michigan when Linnie was 7 years old, and she spent the rest of her life in Lansing, even though she was a country girl at heart. Linnie worked for the State of Michigan, retiring after many years as a file clerk. She enjoyed reading immensely, as well as knitting, crocheting, shopping, and collecting. She loved her family and Jesus, and her faith was very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Lomax, and her second husband, Jim Kent. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Richard Lomax, Rhonda VanAsperen, Brian (Susan) Lomax, Robert (Barbara) Lomax, and John (Jody) Lomax; her grandchildren, Aaron (Elizabeth) Lomax, Ashley (Brian) Beck, Joshua (Nicole) Dies, Christopher (Tammi) Kring, Amanda (Travis) Brown, Adam Bates; her great-grandchildren, Lilli and Leo Lomax, Lucas Dies, Donavin and Kailey Kring, and Ivy Brown; her sister, Peggy Pratt; her cousin, Emma Oller; and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Okemos. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linnie’s name to Dimondale Nursing Care Center, 4000 N. Michigan Road., Dimondale, MI 48821.
