

Lloyd C. Days Sr. (Chuck) passed away on September 5, 2017. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 10, 1939 to Lloyd and Eula (Northrup) Days and graduated from Everett High School in 1957. Chuck served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He was an aviation machinist mate aboard the icebreaker USS Glacier and performed duties as a rescue swimmer. After his honorable discharge, he moved back to Michigan and worked at Diamond Reo Trucks. In 1963, he began a machine repair apprenticeship at Oldsmobile and retired in 2001. Chuck’s passions were fishing and shooting pool. Over the years, he shared many fishing trips to St. Joseph Island, Canada with family and friends and played in several pool leagues in and around the Lansing area.
Chuck leaves behind two brothers James and Roger his wife Katie, his stepbrother Bill Moorehouse and his wife Barb; his children Sherri Days, Margee Days-Ortega, Archie Days, Chuck Days Jr. and his wife Michelle, Rob Days and his wife Andrea; six step-children Bill Barnum (friend Amy), Mike Barnum and his wife Terica, Kelly Herrick, Dan Barnum and his wife Shannon, Matt Barnum and his wife Alicia, Jillane Bruin (friend Anthony); twenty three grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, his stepsister Judy Barnaby, sister-in-law Chris Days, and the love of his life and bride Janet Days.
The family would especially like to thank the amazing staff at the Mid-Michigan Hospice House for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held at The Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., Dewitt, Michigan on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., mass at 11:00 a.m., with lunch immediately following. His wishes were to be cremated.
