Lois A. Donahue

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 12, 2012 at the age of 84. Lois was born in Grand Rapids the daughter of the late Floyd and Geneva (VanPutten) Cornell. She treasured her precious family and will be remembered for her sports enthusiasm. She loved attending sporting events especially for Eastern High School and watching the Detroit Tigers. Lois and her husband Claude were inducted into the Eastern High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. She also enjoyed her daily trips to Meijers. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sons, Patrick and Dan. She will be sorely missed by those surviving to cherish her memory, beloved husband, Claude; daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Wilson, Marylou (Dennis) Budreau and Sue (Pete) Detzler; loving grandchildren, Tracy (Chuck) Alberts, Todd (Nikki) Wilson, Jamie (Jimmy) Tunney, Eric King, Meghan (Jacob) Bond and Taylor Detzler; brothers, Doug (Audrey) Cornell and Roger (Delores) Cornell; sister, Ruth Metcalf; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the funeral home.
