Lois J. Utter

Mason, Michigan

Lois Utter was born on January 1, 1936 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Claude and Arlene (Blair) Guthrie, and passed away October 8, 2013 at the age of 77. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards and belonged to a card club for 50 years. She loved dancing and watching “Dancing With The Stars” (and made the grandkids dance, too!) She will be dearly missed by her beloved family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bion Dickerson and Melvin Utter; daughter, Pamela Dickerson; and son, Daniel Dickerson. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy (Bob) Beratta; son, Melvin (Virginia) Utter; stepchildren, Bion and Judy Dickerson; seven grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Beratta, Danielle and Loren Wingo and Finn, Drew and Ian Sacerson; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, James (Phyllis Sullivan) Guthrie and Alvin (Linda) Guthrie; one sister, Edith (Don) Daggett; and many nieces and nephews, and cousins by the dozens. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. For those desiring, contributions may be made in memory of Lois to Heartland Hospice, 865 S.
