

Lora Ann Delia Thom of Lansing, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2025. She was born in Lansing on February 7, 1965, the 11th of 13 children born to Louis and Ione (Gregoire) Thom. Throughout her life, she was a vibrant personality who enjoyed sharing her thoughts and experiences with others.
Lora loved writing, and it played a large part in her life. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a BA in Communication Arts. While attending MSJU, she wrote for the college newspaper. She loved Cincinnati and cherished her time there as well as the many friendships she developed with fellow students and staff members.
Following graduation, Lora returned to Lansing and served as Associate Editor for the Clinton County News. Over the years, she held numerous public relations roles before launching her own PR and marketing business, Media Images. Lora also served as a substitute teacher and volunteered as a Chairperson for the Clinton County Arts Council.
Lora was devoted to her parents, providing support and care through their declining years, including during her father’s long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her courage under fire was amazing, consistently striving for personal growth during difficult times. Although challenged by her own personal and health issues, she was always willing to lend support to those close to her. She was especially appreciative of the support she received from her partner of five years, Carl, and her many neighbors at Ivan Woods apartments. She felt blessed to be part of such a caring community and thought of them as family.
Lora is survived by her siblings: Paul (Julie) Thom, Paula Busby, Chad (Debbie) Thom, Mark (Tina) Andrews, LuAnn Thom, Kevin (Linda) Thom, Kara Kabia, Louis Thom, Jr., Ann (Paul) Leifker, and Rose Leifker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved partner, Carl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Edward Thom, Sr., and Ione Eunice (Gregoire) Thom, her brother Greg, and her sister Mary.
Lora’s ashes will rest peacefully beside her parents and sister Mary, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 27th at 10:30 am at St Joseph Cemetery in Lansing with Father Jim from St Michael in Grand Ledge will offer the grace.You are encouraged to share photos and memories of Lora on the Dignity Memorial website.
