He was the husband of Carolyn Cassel. They shared eight years together.
Born in Lansing, MI., he was the son of Donald Milton Cassel and Gladys Viola Cassel (Nelson).
He was actively involved at South Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the State of Michigan maintenance division and also from Dean Transportation.
He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and gospel music. He will be remembered for being a servant to others, diehard Michigan State fan, and a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Cassel, daughters Margaret Clegg (Brad), Lisa Cassel, granddaughter Marissa Bush, sister Laurel Beals (Jim), daughters Amber Cooper (Ben), Miranda Barth (Jason), Heather Bennett (Kyle), Renee McCune (Brandon), 8 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, and sister Loretta.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 19th at 11:00 am at South Church of the Nazarene in Lansing. The visitation will be held from 10:00 am to the time of service.
An additional visitation will take place at Gorsline Runciman Funeral home downtown Lansing on Tuesday February 18th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm.
