Luann was united in marriage with Richard “Rick” White on December 16, 1977. She attended Lansing Catholic Central High School and carried forward a steady, dependable work ethic throughout her life. Luann worked at the Sheriff's Department in Denver, CO, the Meridian Township Police Department in Okemos, MI, at Celotex in L’Anse, MI, and later retired from the 55th District Court in Mason, MI, where she performed various office and clerical duties with care and diligence.
Luann lived in Lansing, MI; Denver, CO; and L’Anse, MI. Wherever she made her home, she brought with her a spirit that was both warm and feisty—marked by kindness, honesty, and a cheerful strength that could be counted on. She had a way of noticing what others needed and making sure help was there, offered with sincerity and without hesitation. Her smile and laugh were famously contagious, and she loved to joke around and have fun, brightening ordinary moments with genuine joy.
An animal lover at heart, Luann also enjoyed many types of arts and crafts, finding comfort and expression in creative work. Her compassion extended naturally to animals, and she rescued many over the years—an enduring reflection of the caring way she moved through the world. In a life best remembered for being loving, joyful, and caring, Luann left a lasting imprint on those who knew her.
Luann is survived by her husband, Richard White; her daughter, Molly White; and her brother, Todd Cook, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Janice Cook; her brother, Tony Cook; and her sister-in-law, Melissa Cook (Todd).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
