Marcella E. Houpt

Age 89, died June 19, 2014. She was born to Joseph and Madelene (Miller) Blazek on June 10, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She retired from the State of Michigan Treasury Department. She loved gardening, growing flowers and playing cards. Her family was a big part of her life and she loved gatherings.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Walter Houpt; brothers Joseph and Robert Blazek; sisters Mildred Garrity and Marie Middleton. She is survived by her nine children Judy Dean, Stephen (Colleen) Houpt, Beth Carlson, Mark (Pat) Houpt, Don (Michelle) Houpt, Wally (Mary Beth) Houpt, Amy (Tim) Myers, Greg Houpt, Joni (Harold) James; 29 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; and loving brother Richard Blazek.

Visitation will be at Tiffany Funeral Home 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing from 5-8PM on Wednesday with a 7PM Prayer Vigil. Services will be at 11AM on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at St. Casimir Catholic Church 815 Sparrow Ave, Lansing with visitation one hour prior.
