Marie Ferguson was born on July 25, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Fred and Phoebe (Culver) Weber. Marie graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. She met and married her husband, Donald, in 1953, and the two shared a wonderful 38 years together before Don passed in 1991.
Marie retired from the Lansing Public School District in 1993, and went on to travel. When she wasn’t traveling, she would spend her time volunteering with her grandchildren’s schools, the Love Clothing Center, and at the Lansing Food Bank, always helping where she could.
Family was the most important thing to Marie, and something that she held close to her heart. Besides being a loving and steadfast partner to her loving husband, Marie put her heart into lovingly raising her family. After her children were grown, she poured herself into her grandchildren’s lives. She attended every sporting event, band concert, parade, and dance recital she was able to, and showered her grandkids in her love and support.
Marie passed away the day before Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose triumph over death brings hope to us all.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Phoebe Weber, husband Donald Ferguson, and sister Vivian Rueckert. She is lovingly survived by her children, Kim (Joe), Kerry (Karen), and Kristy (Phil), and grandchildren Phillip, Josh, Ru and Xue.
