She was married to the love of her life Martin Panik on June 28, 1947. He passed away in 1982.
Marie was a first generation American and was very proud of her Czech heritage; she loved the music, food, and traditions.
She was a 75 year member of the ZCBJ Hall in Bannister, Michigan. Marie worked mainly from home raising her children, but she also worked for the State of Michigan, retiring after ten years. She had a great sense of humor, she was strong, independent, and of course stubborn, never wanting to put anyone out or be a burden.
Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Martin Panik, special friend Frank Zalesak, parents, two brothers, four sisters and son-in-law Kermit Day.
She is survived by daughters Constance Anderson and Rebecca Day; brother Joe (Kay) Ozwalda; grandchildren Jason Anderson, Lisa (Scott) Watson, David Covert; great-grandchildren Noah and Austin Watson; and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Tender Hearts for their exceptional and compassionate care during our family's time of need.
