Mario Montalvo Sr.

Lansing, MI

Born October 25, 1927 in Piedras Negras, Mexico, the son of Ramon and Gregoria Montalvo, passed away January 16, 2012 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria D. Villanueva; sons, Mario Montalvo Jr. and Roy Montalvo. Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Enedina; daughters, Lupe Hernandez, Yolanda Munoz, Maria (Carlos) Tackett, Dorothy (Chris Mullen) Montalvo and Monica (Jesse) Montalvo-Beshears; sons, Jaime (Karyn) Montalvo and Arthur (Linda) Montalvo; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren. Mario loved music and baseball. He played baseball and softball around the Lansing area for most of his life. He was passionate about his beautiful yard and the upkeep of his home. He will be remembered by all who have known and loved him as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 201 W. Miller Rd., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 form 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM, with the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E.
