Marjoan Kocher Wohlfert

MarJoan "Jodie" Kocher Wohlfert, aged 73, passed away on September 21, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on October 7, 1950, Jodie grew up in Greenville, Michigan, where she attended Greenville High School.

Jodie dedicated many years of her career to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, where her commitment to justice and community service was evident. She was a passionate supporter of Michigan State University, often found enthusiastically cheering for her team during games. Jodie's love for her dogs and other pets was unmatched, bringing joy and companionship throughout her life.

She shared a love of the outdoors with her husband, Roy Wohlfert, particularly enjoying camping and spending days by Thornapple Lake. This shared hobby forged lasting memories and a deep bond between them throughout their nearly 25-year marriage. Her love for lake days was also shared with her son Jacques, where they would spend weekends in Grand Haven, enjoying each other’s company.

Jodie leaves behind her loving husband, Roy; son, Jacques Kocher-Brown and his wife Kayla; Chelsey DeGoedee, grandson Mac DeGoedee; and sisters, Michelle and Melissa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Laverne Kocher, and mother, Jacqueline Hazamp.

Jodie will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her fierce loyalty to her loved ones, and her unwavering support for her favorite sports team. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
