She was born at home December 5, 1944 in Manton, Michigan, her family later moved to St. Johns where she graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1962. Marge went on to graduate from LCC as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1964. She worked at St. Lawrence Hospital on the surgery/medical floor until an injury, then went on to work in the Utilization Management Department and obtained her AHIT credentials. After working at both St. Lawrence and the main campus at Sparrow, she retired after 43 years of service.
Marge was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Holy Cross and St. Casimir churches, she was a member of the Ladies Guild and sung in the holiday choirs. She enjoyed garage sales, collecting dolls, scottie dogs, English cottages, a good nutty donut, and was a voracious reader. Marge also loved watching her favorite NCIS and any good mystery or true crime show listed in her beloved TV Guide. She enjoyed a good joke and liked telling them as well as funny stories at our family gatherings. She was a very giving, compassionate, caring person, this was reflected in her donations to her special charities, her family that she loved so much, and her devotion to God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Elsie Waite; her infant sister, Francis; and her sister, Ruth Ann Smith. Surviving are her niece, Leanne Summer (Bob, deceased) Rose; her niece, Rebecca Smith; her great-nieces, Jordan Nickless, Gabrielle Mathews, Madison Mathews; great-nephew, Bobby Rose; as well as one great-great-niece and two great-great-nephews.
