Marvin H. Green

Marvin worked and retired from Okemos School District after 20 years of service. He will be remembered for his love of fishing and playing poker, his faith and membership with his parish; Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Saint Johns, Michigan, and finally for being the best Big Papa to all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Joan E. Green; his daughter; Elizabeth (Rex) Thorne; and his loving grandchildren; Daniel Thorne, Hannah (Richard) Gleason, Kelsey (Andy) Klais, Andrew(Grace) Thorne, Jon (Kat) Thorne, Dakotah Price and David Lee Green; his “grandchildren” who loved him like a grandfather; Ali and Lacy; his many loving great-grandchildren; his brothers, Tom(Sue) Green, Paul(Sherry) Green, Kenneth(Dawn) Green; his sisters, Lucy Ackerman, Karen Flint, Jean Green; and his many nieces and nephews.

Marvin is preceded in death by; his parents; his son, Daniel Green; his brothers, Miles and Ray Green; and his sisters, Laquita and Martha.

A visitation and funeral service will take place on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 12:00PM – 2:00PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing Michigan 48912, with funeral services following the visitation at 2:00PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Leek Cemetery.
