Mary Lee Beavers

Mary Lee Beavers, aged 84, peacefully departed this world on January 20, 2024, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, MI. Born on May 16, 1939, in Prescott, AR, Mary was the cherished daughter of Birdie Giles Anderson and James Giles.

Mary dedicated her life’s work to the art of floristry, bringing beauty and joy to countless lives. A proud resident of Lansing, MI, Mary found solace in simple pleasures, enjoying activities such as bowling in her younger years, sewing, cooking, and solving puzzles. She found comfort in the quiet moments, relishing in the tales spun by Lifetime Movies and savoring meals at her favorite spot, Cracker Barrel.

Her keen eye and gentle spirit made her a beloved figure among friends and family. Mary's children, Mary Mitchell, Ethel Verser of OK, Anita (Clarence) Jones, Delores Beavers, and Lisa Beavers, all of Lansing, MI, will forever hold her memory close. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her grandchildren: Tania Mitchell, Tyrice Mitchell of Sparks, NV, Dwayne Johnson, Tucker Johnson, Demarcus Lane, Montrell Smith, Wyvonne Verser, and Travis Verser, all of Lansing, MI, along with a host of great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings, James Giles and Augusta (Barbara) Giles, and will be dearly missed by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, special nieces Taniesha Giles and Tawanna Byrd. Preceding her in death are her parents, grandchild Paris Wells, and siblings Jessie Lee Williams, Henry Giles, Willie Giles, Otis Giles, and Nathaniel Giles.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who provided support and comfort during this time of loss. Mary will be remembered as a woman of love, care, and admiration, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A Homegoing Service for Mary will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a one-hour prior viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Tiffany Chapel, 3232 West Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 2600 E. Mt. Hope Rd, Lansing, MI 48910.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Tyrice Jamaal Mitchell, Dwayne Johnson, Demarcus Lane, Montrell Smith, Daryl Jones, Travis Verser, Andre Smith, and Anthony Byrd.
