Mary Loretta Maier

Mary Loretta (Lynch) Maier, born August 19, 1932 to Gladys (Shaw) and Patrick Lynch in Lansing, Michigan, passed away April 29, 2017, at the age of 84. Mary was married to her high school sweetheart, Edward Maier, just shy of 60 years when he passed away in 2010. Mary was devoted to her family, was classy and compassionate, and a loving and supportive wife and mother. She was a classical music enthusiast, and also loved to support Mark Dantonio and cheer for his Spartan football team.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ed; her brothers, Vern, Bob, Larry and Louis; and her sisters, Dorothy Sontag and Patricia Lott.

She is survived by her brother, John (Linda) Lynch; sister, Theresa Lynch; six children, Steven Maier, Susan (Jeff) Lyons, Joan (Jeff) Soles, Laurie Parker, William Maier and Theresa Maier; 15 grandchildren, Lesley Farrell, Daniel Maier, Emily Maier, Troy Lyons, Evan Lyons, Monica Woolman, Bryan Miller, Michael Parker, Kaitlin Parker, Zachary Parker, Jonathan Maier, Caroline Maier, Jessica Sadler, Clayton Sadler and Joseph Sadler; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place, private burial will take place at a later date.
