

Mary Lynn (Joss) Young, passed away on September 18th, 2025, at the age of 66, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on October 28th, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, to Wilda and John Joss, Mary’s journey was marked by a deep love for her family and the simple pleasures in life.
On July 14th, 1979, Mary married the love of her life, Douglas Young, with whom she built a beautiful life. She dedicated over 30 years to a fulfilling career with the State of Michigan, but her passions extended far beyond her work. Mary was a talented seamstress and quilter, finding joy and creativity in every stitch. She also embraced the great outdoors, whether she was hunting and fishing or simply enjoying nature. A true animal lover, Mary especially adored her beloved poodles, Savannah and Bentley, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Douglas Young; her loving children, Kimberly (Kris Colpean) and Kelley (Jordon Nevins); and her cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Charlotte, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her siblings, Bruce Joss, John Joss, and Janet Taylor, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilda Joss.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will continue to inspire.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Mary's life will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Gorsline-Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing.
