Marylou Woodrough passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born October 11, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan. She grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan, where she graduated from high school in 1966. She married Larry on March 8, 1969. Then, Gary was born a few years later, with Terry following in a few more years. With two young boys to raise and take care of, she decided to become a homemaker. That turned into a home day care provider for multiple neighborhood kids in our extended Williamston family. Once all those kids grew up, she rejoined the workforce and spent numerous years working at Second Time Around, helping run the consignment area. Which did include using a computer that was quite an adventure for her and their technical support team.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and sewing in between whatever house remodeling project her and Larry were doing at the time. Family and friends were the most important things to her, and she always had an open door for whoever, whenever. Even if they weren’t home.
She is survived by her 2 sons Gary (Tonya) and Terry (Leslie), 4 grandchildren (Anna, Danielle, Jacob, and Cole), cousin Lloyd (Joan) Dickerson, mother-in-law, Hazel Sackrider, brother-in-law, Jack (Becky), sister-in-law Wanda (Jim) Schmidt, 5 nieces and nephews, Carrie Curtis, Hannah (Dimitri) Brown, Beth (Matt) Kuzma, Sara Mapes, and Tobe (Emily) Woodrough and numerous other cousins, grand nieces and nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her Husband Larry, sister-in-law Brenda Curtis, father, and mother, Robert and Marion Humphrey.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, with the family receiving friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. A brief Cemetery service to lay her to rest with Larry will be held at East Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Rd., Okemos, at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice in honor of Marylou for all the care, help, and support their team has provided for her and us over the past few months.
