Born May 12, 1927 in Lansing, the son of Joseph and Vera Greenier, passed away January 18, 2012 at the age of 84. A retired plumber by trade Mervin served as a longtime member of Plumber’s local #98. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters; son-in-law, David Peabody; granddaughter, Lisa VanValin; and his beloved wife, Shirley. Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Patricia Peabody; grandchildren, David (Kerry) Peabody and Marc (Robin) Peabody; grandson-in-law, Dan VanValin; great grandchildren, Karis, Kadin, Koren, Tony, Megan and Heather; special sister, Arletta Shank; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Rev. David R. Leisman of Valley Farms Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
