

Dr. Michael J. Ezzo was born to Michael “Mickey” and Evelyn Ezzo on June 13, 1954 in Lansing, MI. Dr. Ezzo was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. He attended Lansing Community College, Michigan State University (MSU), completing his education at Western Michigan University (WMU). He received his Doctorate in Education Counseling in a Clinical Setting with a specialty in Clinical Neuropsychology and also a Master of Arts Counseling in a Clinical setting. Upon graduation, during his employment at MSU, he was an assistant professor, Chief Psychologist, Rehabilitation Medicine Coordinator, and Biofeedback Program Director. He was a brilliant and talented man; pioneering in the field of merging Psychology with computers. Dr. Ezzo worked for over thirty years providing consulting services to organizations across the country regarding healthcare automation; doing consulting with companies such as Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, and the Department of Energy. He was in private practice touching the lives of many patients and was constantly concerned about their well-being. Some of his greatest accomplishments were President of Datalus, CEO of Ezzo and Assoiciates, Chief Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Community Health, appointed by former Governor Granholm to assist in the reorganization of the Department of Community Health, and produced a number of manuals in conjunction with the Department of Psychiatry for developing Telepsychiatry. When he was not caring for his patients or spending time with his family, he was a very talented artist. He had his hands in essentially every form of art; Rose engine engraving, stained glass, wood working, jewelry making, and knitting just to name a few. In addition to artistry, he was also a phenomenal chef and enjoyed making new recipes for his family to enjoy. Dr. Ezzo and his loving wife spent over two decades transforming their home into a beautiful work of art which they cherished and made great memories doing so.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mickey and Evelyn Ezzo, mother and father-in law, Gerald and Marilyn Mackey, numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Dr. Ezzo is survived by his beloved wife Wendy (Mackey) Ezzo, children Michael Thomas (Julia Frankosky) and Stephanie. His siblings Suzanne (Mark) Goodloe, Lenny Ezzo (Richelle Apple), Patricia (Dennis) Marrs, and the mother of his children, Anita Ezzo. Brother-in-laws Russell Mackey, William (Pam) Mackey, Chris (Judy) Mackey, sister-in-law Shelley (Brad) Cook, numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4:00-8:00p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m.with luncheon to follow Friday, February 10, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection 1505 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912 with visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations are being made in memory of Michael to The American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823.
