Michael was born March 1st, 1951 to Russell and Frances (Cox) Rhupayne, and passed away on March 9th, 2014 at age 63. Michael retired from the Department of Management and Budget for The State of Michigan as a carpenter. He was a successful musician who loved playing his bass guitar in the band “Group Therapy” and enjoyed sharing his musical talents by playing at the “Uli’s Haus of Rock” and the “Classic Pub.” Michael loved to be out riding his Harley on nice days and was a member of “The Brotherhood MC.” He also loved woodworking and was working on building a nice woodshop at home making memorable things such as the coat rack, and a vacuum cleaner stand for the woodshop. Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, and his wolf, Aja-‘Khan. He is survived by his girlfriend of 25 years Karen Hollifield, daughter Brianna Johnston, sons Paul (Michelle) Bushaw, Tyler Johnston, grandchildren Levi, Cameron, Annabelle, and Isabella.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel at 2pm, visitation two hours prior.
