Miller Abraham passed to Heaven peacefully on December 27, 2023, at the age of 95, surrounded by his loving family. Miller was a loving husband, devoted father, much loved grandfather, and great-grandfather, loyal brother, endearing uncle and friend. He was born on December 11, 1928, in Lansing, to Issac and Eva Abraham. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Issac, Edward Abraham, Mildred Ingram, Azziza Kincaid, David, Paul and his beloved daughter, Sue Ellen Abraham in 2016. His wife, Marilyn, died in 2011.
Miller married Marilyn Mae Sonnenberg on May 15, 1954. He also enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard around that time and proudly served his country for over 22 years as an artillery specialist. He worked for General Motors at the Lansing plant for forty years, retiring in 1995. Miller always bought GM vehicles—mostly red which was his favorite color. He was an avid bowler and was well-known to the Lansing bowling community where he continued to bowl in two leagues until he was 93 to the amazement of everyone! “Abe” was one of the most kind and easy person to be around his entire life. He also liked to “take a ride” quite often which meant a gambling trip to the casinos, and he loved playing the daily lottery.
Surviving are his children, Cheryl (Jim) Farhat and Mark (Lisa) Abraham; grandsons Michael (Kellie) Farhat and Jeffrey Farhat; great-grandchildren Lucy and Levi Farhat; step children Victoria (Keenan) Peck and Glenn (Nikki) Peck, step-grandson Keenan, Jr., step-granddaughters, Savanah, Alyssa, Makala and many nieces and nephews. The memories we shared with my dad will live in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lansing, with Father Mark Martin as celebrant.
