Patricia Ann Bachmann died peacefully on Easter, April 21, 2019, surrounded by family. Pat spent her last months at Addington Place of DeWitt, assisted with love and care by the Addington staff, the Great Lakes Hospice caregivers, friends and family. Her daughters Celia and Lisa were with her through her last hours.
Born April 3, 1931, Pat turned 88 only weeks before her passing. She was delighted by the many visits and well wishers, especially with the surprise visit by her lifelong friend Jo Lewis, who came from Florida to be with her. Pat enjoyed all of the visits from friends and family, as well as the many bouquets of beautiful flowers that filled her room.
Pat is remembered as a woman of style, always beautiful and well dressed. She had a passion for decorating and many remember her bold color choices and stylish rooms. She learned ballroom dancing and her children remember her cha-cha on the dance floor. In her last years, she especially enjoyed going for lunch with her daughter Celia, as well as spending time with her sister Marilyn, who lived nearby.
Pat was known for her big heart and positive outlook. She was always willing to help her family, and she enjoyed having fun with all the kids. Through thick and thin, she loved and supported all of them.
Pat was the daughter of Rex and Mamie Archer. She grew up in East Lansing and spent her life in the greater Lansing area. Her parents, as well as her sister, Joyce Shetterly, and her brother, Ron Archer, preceded her in death.
Pat is survived by her sister, Marilyn Slocum; by her children, Gay Bachmann (Scott Kelly), Ron Bachmann (Marie), Lisa Bachmann (Troy Hawkins), and Celia Sandberg (Fritz); by her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bachmann, Jordan Bachmann, Morgan Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins, Joshua Sandberg (Melinda), Fritz Sandberg, Greg Kelly (Sara), and Carisa Campos; and by her great grandchildren, Hailee Smith, Nelle Kelly and Ryeley Davis. She will be remembered fondly, with love, by all.
There will be memorial service for Pat at 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 with visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes 900 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing Michigan 48912. Those desiring may send contributions to The American Cancer Society or Great Lakes Hospice.
