Patty graduated from Beekman Center in 1983. Throughout her life, she was known for the steady warmth she brought to those around her—always greeting others with a smile that made people feel at ease. Patty was always one to show people love; she signed "I Love You" in ASL to everyone in her life often. She found joy in simple, meaningful pastimes: crocheting one-handed, assembling puzzles, and playing Aggravation. Patty also cherished time with family, especially the chance to hold and play with the babies in the family.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Marion (Peterman) Carpenter and Walter Peterman; her brother, Lewis; and her sisters, Beverly Ries, Marjorie Clark, and Mary.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Olson and Deborah Decker, as well as many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren.
Those who loved Patty can take comfort in the thought that she is now free to walk, run, dance, and sing with the angels. This is a time to be happy for Patty, and to smile in her honor—just as she always did.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at A Home Away From Home and Optimal Care Hospice for their loving care and dedication to caring for Patty. There are not enough words to express gratitude for your services; thank you for being kind and compassionate.
