Paul Franklin Galloway

Paul Franklin Galloway, 81, passed on September 2, 2026, at McLaren Greater Lansing following complications from surgery. He was born September 18, 1944, in Charleston, South Carolina to Clyde Galloway and Mae Bell (Cooper) Howell. The family moved to Lansing, Michigan when he was five years old.

Paul graduated from Lansing Eastern High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps where he served from September 25, 1963 until September 24, 1967. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service Paul returned to Lansing where he married Shirley Joan Welch on May 23, 1970. He worked for General Motors as a Fire Prevention Officer for 36 years, retiring in 2000.

In 2010, following Shirley's death, Paul moved to Manton, Michigan where he enjoyed daily fellowship with the "Coffee Gang" at the local restaurant. He enjoyed hunting up north and making his own ammunition. He loved fishing with family and friends, and making trips to casinos. Paul will be remembered for his kind, friendly demeanor, smart wit, and strong, generous nature.

Surviving are his children, Brian Telfor, Ricky (JoAnn Morgan) Telfor, Randy (Kim) Telfor, Diane (Don) Lound, Douglas (Jennifer) Telfor, and Stacey (Brian) Borgman; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Chauncy Morgan; sister, Jackie Ribby; nephews, Hubert and Keith Galloway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Joan Galloway; children, Brenda Morgan and Sherri Galloway; grandson, Jeremy Telfor; parents, Clyde and Mae Bell Galloway; siblings, Junior Galloway, Bill Galloway, and Maddie Reynolds.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Riverview Church - Holt Venue, 3585 E Willoughby Road. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, and Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Paul will be buried near his late wife, Shirley and daughter, Sherri at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing.
