

She was born on November 16, 1946 in Gladwin Michigan to Cecil and Olive Bates and enjoyed a childhood filled with adventure. An avid outdoors woman, Pauletta loved hunting, fishing and hiking in the Higgins Lake area of Michigan. After graduation from Roscommon High School in 1964 she entered that autumn at Central Michigan University and majored in accounting earning her degree.
In early adulthood Pauletta traveled the world to exotic destinations including Morocco and Spain. Her love of travel and the outdoors was a large part of her life. In 1980 she married the love of her life, husband Richard and the two continued to travel together in South America, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. In 2005 in celebration of their 25th Wedding Anniversary a special trip was arranged to Italy and Europe with a return voyage on the legendary Queen Elizabeth II.
Adventure continued throughout her life with many wonderful memories of boating with friends in Saugatuck and Spring Lake. Winters held a special love for the great outdoors with several years of ski trips with family and friends to Boyne Mountain and Shanty Creek.
Pauletta's successful career spanned well over three decades beginning with a local CPA firm and continuing at General Motors in a similar capacity within their accounting department. In 2002 she retired from the State of Michigan after 30 years of service as a Securities Fraud Investigator with the office of Financial and Insurance services. Together with Richard the two enjoyed their retirement years between their homes in Marco Island/Naples and their summers at home in Michigan.
Pauletta had many friends and associates and was active in several clubs and organizations including volunteering at Sparrow Hospital, The Breslin Center and a local animal rescue training center called Paws in Naples Florida. Pauletta enjoyed working with the canines and therapy training so they could serve veterans and those in need. Pauletta was an avid investor and demonstrated a keen sense of selecting wise financial investments and tracking the stock market.
Her artistic gifts were admired by all who knew her. She had flair for fashion and style with an attractive approach to interior decorating and home décor. An art lover both as the artist and the enthusiast, she collected many paintings, prints and art in various mediums throughout most of her life.
Many remember her in the kitchen and for her love of cooking and experimenting with exotic dishes.
Her faith and love of family and her grandchildren sustained her during the difficult years as she bravely fought breast cancer and recovered in 2003 only to discover that her illness had returned again in 2014.
She leaves behind many cherished friends and family and is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Rosenau, daughters Beth Sarver of Raleigh, North Carolina, Erin Rosenau of Estero, Florida and grandsons Sam and Connor Sarver of Raleigh, North Carolina. Sister Jeanetta Dodge (John) of Western Michigan nieces Tana Dodge Buck (Grant) and April Dodge also of Western Michigan.
A celebration of Pauletta's life will be held on Saturday June 18, 2016 at The Brookshire Inn, 205 W. Church Street, Williamston, Michigan 48895. The family will receive friends at 1:30 pm with a special memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those that desire to honor her life may wish to make a donation to The American Cancer Society.
