Peggy married the love of her life, William Drews on April 30, 1955. Together they raised a family in Lansing.
Peggy enjoyed being a Lansing school bus driver for many years. She also loved going to the lake, and in more recent years, going to the casino, Red Hat Society gatherings and anything else that involved spending time with her family. She loved getting together with both her immediate and extended family and did so, on a weekly basis. Before the pandemic, the entire family would meet every Friday evening for dinner. Seeing her family and spending time with them brought her much joy. She was a big-hearted person and always ready for a good time.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Amy Ozanich; brothers-in-law, Walter Drews and Ronald Heinritz, as well as special aunt and uncle, Thomas and Virginia Papiernik Sr.
Peggy will forever be loved and remembered by her loving husband of 66 years, William; daughter, Penny (Michael) Lindley; son, Robert Drews; sisters, Bobbie (Ronald) Mannor and Sally (Rick Garrett) Heinritz, sister-in-law, June Drews, grandchildren, David (Heather) Asiala , Mark (Debra) Redburn, Tara (Douglas) Pugmire, Mandy (Jeff) Morin, Skylar (Emberly) Drews, Robert (Rachel) Ozanich and Brandy Ozanich; 19 great grandchildren; very dear friend, Earlene Sever and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held for Peggy on October 25, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at St. Therese Catholic Church, 102 West Randolph Street in Lansing. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church.
In honor of Peggy, who died of Covid complications, the family would like to encourage anyone attending the funeral to wear a mask.
